What is product photo post-production?
Post-production is editing finished photos on a computer. For product photos it most often means removing dust and scratches, matching colours to the real product, replacing the background, unifying crops and creating colour variants without a new shoot. I also worked professionally as a retoucher in Australia.
What I edit
- Clean-up. Dust, fingerprints, scratches and distracting reflections.
- Background replacement or clean-up. To white, transparent (PNG) or into a scene.
- Colour variants. I photograph one product and create the other colours in post-production.
- A consistent catalogue. The same crop, size, shadow and colour across all products.
- Creative additions. Added elements, composites, edits for advertising.
When is retouching better than a new shoot?
Retouching makes sense when the photos are sharp and well lit and just need a cleaner background, a consistent look or colour variants. If a shot is blurry, dark or taken from the wrong angle, it's quicker and cheaper to photograph the product again. Send me a sample and I'll tell you what makes sense.

What format and resolution will the photos be in?
As standard I deliver JPG for the web and, on request, PNG with a transparent background. I'll prepare the size and aspect ratio to your brief. One format is included in the price; each additional crop costs CZK 50 per photo. I send the photos via a download link.
How much does product photography cost?
A white-background photo costs from CZK 300, a creative photo from CZK 450 and a lifestyle photo CZK 900 per shot. Each order includes a one-off fee for setting up the scene and lighting, from CZK 600. The exact price depends on the number of products, the material and the style.
