How to increase online shop sales with product photography

There are several tactics that can help you increase your online shop's turnover. Some are easy to implement and make the most sense; others can be time-consuming and expensive and are not always effective. Using product photos the right way, however, always makes sense.
Tip 1: Invest in a professional
Your products may have an interesting design, but if they aren't photographed properly, their online sales will automatically suffer. Poorly chosen lighting or a distracting background is all it takes for a product to look creased, scratched or even broken. The first and absolutely essential step is therefore to have them photographed professionally. Invest in an experienced product photographer who will make sure the products in your online shop look their very best.
Tip 2: Use post-production services
Many online shops have the problem of presenting goods that look different in reality than in the picture, or that are no longer available at all. If you don't want to disappoint your customers – and lose them as a result – make sure the product photos are updated regularly. It also happens that new clothing collections, for example, include the same items in different colours. This is actually quite easy to solve. Not always, but for many products it is enough to change the colour or shade in an existing photo. Ask your product photographer, who can handle the post-production.

Tip 3: Don't be afraid of the latest technology
Gain a competitive edge by offering your customers an experience when they shop online. In addition to classic product photos, you can present your goods using 3D or 360° product photography. A virtual view of the product, which customers can turn to see from every side with just a click or a drag of the mouse, encourages them to stay on your website longer and ultimately buy.
